Chairmans Message 2026

Hi all and welcome,

My name is Lisa, and I have the pleasure of entering my second year as Chairperson for the Buckinghamshire Centre of The Caravan and Motorhome Club.

This year we still have a small but dedicated committee, and I’m delighted to welcome two new members, Pat and Robert. Pat will be introducing some games throughout the year, while Robert will be focusing on equipment.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to say goodbye to two committee members, Charlotte and Dan Cable, as they take some time to focus on family life. I’d like to take a moment to thank them both for their incredible contributions — you will be very much missed.

The role of Rally Secretary has now been fully taken on by Gary. A huge thank you to Gary for stepping up to this mammoth task! If you have any rally locations in mind, please don’t hesitate to contact him — he’s more than happy to explore ideas and help bring them to life. As always, the committee is working hard behind the scenes to bring you exciting locations and fun entertainment.

We’ve got some fantastic sites lined up for the year ahead, including:

·       Easter at Bibury Football Club

·       A games challenge at Abingdon Cricket Club in May, joint with the Upper Thames Centre

·       The second May Bank Holiday in Brailes, Banbury, another beautiful location

In June, we head to the Wild West of Merton — so grab your best Stetson and cowboy boots and come and join the fun! We’ll then return to Merton in September for “There’s Been a Murder”, where we’ll need your help to solve the case.

Our Chairman’s Rally will take place at Kop Hill Field, Princes Risborough School, during Whitsun week, so we can make the most of all the sunshine we’re planning to enjoy this year. We’ve also booked some fantastic entertainment, so please do come along for plenty of fun.

With the proposed building work at PRS, we’re a little unsure how many spaces will be available later in the year. We’d therefore recommend booking early to avoid missing out. As soon as I have more information, I’ll post updates on the Facebook pages.

As many of you know, the committee members are very approachable, so if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to come and talk to us. We’re always happy to chat — although I’ll admit I might do a bit more of the talking!

We’re really looking forward to seeing you out on the rally field this year. Let’s make it a year full of fun, laughter, and great memories.

Thank you,
Lisa
